Why Become a Volunteer?

As a Let's Talk Science volunteer, you are able to develop your skills while having fun sharing your excitement for science with youth! Best of all, you set your own time commitment! You are free to sign up for activities and events as they best fit into your own unique schedule.

Let’s Talk Science at the University of Toronto (St. George) has partnered with the Graduate Professional Skills (GPS) Program through the School of Graduate Studies (learn more here). Let’s Talk Science graduate volunteers are now able to earn up to 7 GPS credits for their involvement in 3 different LTS offerings:

  • Introduction to Science Outreach
  • Science Fair Judging
  • Career Mentorship.

These GPS points contribute to the professional development of our volunteers, allowing for their professional growth to be documented in their diploma.

Develop your teaching skills, earn GPS credits, and add great experience with an internationally recognized organization to your CV!
