As a Let’s Talk Science volunteer, you are able to develop your skills while having fun sharing your excitement for science with youth! Best of all, you set your own time commitment! You are free to sign up for activities and events as they best fit into your own unique schedule.
Let’s Talk Science at the University of Toronto (St. George) has partnered with the Graduate Professional Skills (GPS) Program through the School of Graduate Studies (learn more here). By volunteering with Let’s Talk Science graduate volunteers are now able to earn up to 8 GPS credits, the most GPS credits you can earn from one student groups.
The credits can be earned in 4 different ways.
- Attending a Science with Impact Training plus completing two classroom visits – 3 credits
- Managing large events – 2 credits
- Science Fair Mentorship and Judging – 1 credit
- Mentorship program – 2 credits
These GPS points contribute to the professional development of our volunteers, allowing for their professional growth to be documented in their diploma.
